The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), in collaboration with the Queensland Government, has launched a forward-thinking initiative to support tourism businesses across the state.

This $4.5 million Tourism Business Digital Adaption Program is designed to empower up to 1,600 tourism operators by enhancing their digital capabilities through financial and strategic support.

Central to this initiative is the $2,500 rebate available to individual operators, helping them transition to new digital technologies that improve operations, guest engagement, and overall visitor experiences.

Streamlining Digital Upgrades

Approved providers such as Resly are instrumental in this program, offering innovative solutions that align with the grant’s objectives.

For businesses ready to adopt Resly's digital tools, applying for the grant and specifying their intention to move to this platform will streamline approval, ensuring a seamless transition to enhanced digital operations. This is particularly beneficial for operators looking to improve booking systems, payment processes, and online customer interactions.

Timeline and Future Opportunities

The current round of the Tourism Business Digital Adaption Program runs until November 30, but there is more good news: the program is set to return next year, offering ongoing opportunities for businesses that may not be ready to apply this time.

Minister for Tourism and Sport Michael Healy MP expressed the long-term vision behind this initiative: “These grants will help make small to medium-sized tourism operators expand their reach and deliver even better visitor experiences in a digital world.”

Additional Benefits and Support

Besides the rebate, tourism operators can access free online digital webinars, trials of digital tools, and comprehensive resources.

The Digital Champions Network is another key aspect, providing expert guidance to help businesses identify and address their specific digital needs.

This ensures operators are well-supported as they upgrade their systems, fostering growth and sustainability within Queensland’s tourism sector.

A Boost for Business Sustainability

The initiative aligns with Queensland’s broader strategy to enhance digital integration in key industries.

As Minister for Transport and Main Roads Bart Mellish MP noted, “This initiative will help more tourism businesses to adopt technologies and be more innovative in their tourism experience, service delivery, and business sustainability.”

Take Action Before the Deadline

Tourism operators are encouraged to act swiftly before the current grant period closes on November 30. Approved suppliers like Resly are ready to support businesses in leveraging these grants effectively, making digital transformation accessible and impactful.
