The Role
As a Subject Matter Expert – Trust Accounting at Resly, you’re not just advising — you’re shaping how our platform handles one of the most critical aspects of our customers’ businesses.
You’ll bring deep domain expertise to guide product, engineering, and customer teams, ensuring our trust accounting capabilities are accurate, compliant, and aligned with real-world workflows.
This role bridges industry knowledge and product development, helping us deliver solutions that customers can rely on with confidence.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert guidance on trust accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to design and validate trust accounting features
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and audit requirements across regions
- Review and validate system behaviour, calculations, and reporting accuracy
- Support onboarding and support teams with complex trust accounting scenarios
- Help translate customer and regulatory requirements into clear product specifications
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve our trust accounting capabilities
- Contribute to documentation, training, and internal knowledge sharing
What We’re Seeking
- Deep expertise in trust accounting, ideally within hospitality, property management, or real estate
- Strong understanding of compliance, reconciliation processes, and audit requirements
- Experience working with trust accounting systems or financial software
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable guidance
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
- Collaborative mindset, working across product, engineering, and customer teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Nice to Have
- Experience working with or advising SaaS product teams
- Familiarity with integrations to accounting systems (e.g. Xero)
- Experience across multiple regions or regulatory environments
- Background in training, consulting, or customer-facing roles
